In 2020, Tonya pioneered a 360° virtual tour platform that transformed how locations are evaluated. What began as a solution to pandemic-era scouting quickly evolved into a powerful, marketing tool—turning physical spaces into dynamic digital assets that are available 24/7.
As pre-production timelines tighten, clarity is everything. These immersive 360° tours provide instant confidence—making it easier than ever to say “Yes!” faster.
A modest investment in a professional 360° tour elevates visibility and positions a location ahead of the competition. Properties don’t just get seen—they stand out.
Tonya’s technical credentials further elevate her work. Holding a Basic Pilot License and Advanced RPAS Ground School certification, Tonya integrates aerial imagery that adds cinematic scale and value to every project.
With 30 years in the film industry, Tonya brings a rare combination of production expertise and an understanding of the storytelling power of location. Her career spans episodic television, commercials, and feature films. She doesn’t just source exceptional locations—she understands what works for production and how to pitch it.
Built on decades of trusted industry relationships, Tonya’s reputation is grounded in authenticity, strategic insight, and commitment. She pairs big-picture vision with hands-on execution, ensuring every project is supported from concept through delivery.
Beyond production, Tonya is an advocate and industry leader. She has written feature articles for Compass, the official magazine of the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI), and produced the World of Looks photography competition— spotlighting the work of location scouts in British Columbia.
Her photography has won awards and will be featured in Locations International 2026, a glossy publication distributed at global film festivals and industry events.
Tonya’s expertise has been recognized by leading media outlets, including Architectural Digest, Variety, Global News, CBC, and the Vancouver Sun.
In 2011, Tonya authored the DGC BC training course -“Introduction to Location Scouting” - teaching hundreds of emerging professionals. She later became the first instructor to successfully transition the curriculum online during the pandemic.
An advocate for the category and its creative contribution, Tonya continues to champion the craft of location scouting in British Columbia. She played a key role in establishing the scouting committee in hopes of securing fair representation for the category.
Fun Fact: While working as a scout on Smallville, a character was named in her honor, appearing in seven episodes.
Above all, Tonya is proudest of her role as a mother. As Nathanial prepares to graduate, she steps into her next chapter with the same drive that has defined her career—big, bold and built with intention.
