In 2020, Tonya pioneered a customized 360° virtual tour platform that redefined how locations are evaluated and selected. What began as a solution to pandemic-era scouting challenges quickly evolved into a powerful and scalable marketing tool—transforming physical spaces into compelling digital assets.
Today, Tonya’s immersive virtual tours are trusted by municipalities, event venues and a large university. As pre-production timelines shrink and location databases grow into thousands of options, decision-makers need ease and clarity. These tours deliver speed and the ability to say yes, faster.
For location owners, a modest investment in a 360° tour produces outsized returns. Properties don’t just get seen—they stand out!
Tonya holds a Basic Pilot License and has completed Advanced RPAS Ground School, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance when capturing integrated aerial imagery, adding critical spatial context and a cinematic perspective.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the film industry, Tonya brings a rare understanding of production and the value of locations in storytelling. Her career spans independent films, episodic television and large-budget productions. Known for her intuition, creative vision, and story-first approach, she understands not only how to source locations—but how to position and pitch them to decision-makers.
Her foundation in photojournalism, combined with entrepreneurial leadership as the founder of an award-winning surf camp, has shaped a highly specialized skill set that blends technical mastery with business acumen. In practice, Tonya operates as a one-woman sales, marketing and production department—supported by long-standing industry relationships built on trust, integrity, and consistent results.
Beyond production, Tonya is an industry advocate and educator. In 2025, she helped establish the first formal committee dedicated to fair representation and wages for location scouts in British Columbia. She has written articles for the LMGI’s Compass magazine, distributed in over 20 countries, and produced the World of Looks photography competition in collaboration with more than 50 industry partners.
In 2011, Tonya authored the DGC BC prerequisite course Introduction to Location Scouting, educating and mentoring hundreds of students over the following decade with consistently high ratings, and became the first instructor to transition the course to an online format.
Above all, Tonya is most proud of her role as a mother to her son, Nathanial. As he prepares to graduate, she looks ahead to her next chapter—bigger, bolder, and built with intention.
